Your questions, answered

You’ll earn official City & Guilds (6160 series) or CITB (GET series) qualifications when completing confined‑space entrant, supervisory, or rescue/resuscitation courses. These are nationally recognised, competence‑based certifications accepted across industries. You’ll typically receive your certificate—and sometimes a smart card—on the same day

Inspiration Training does offer e‑learning, but their confined‑spaces training is practical, in‑person only. While some health & safety topics may be covered online, confined‑spaces work requires hands‑on training and is delivered face‑to‑face .

Anyone who works in or manages access to confined spaces—for example, tanks, silos, pits, sewers, utility vaults, etc.—should get trained. That includes:

  • Entrants (low to high risk)
  • Supervisors and entry controllers
  • Rescue and recovery team members
  • Applicable across industries like construction, utilities, water treatment, waste, manufacturing, etc.

The training covers:

  • Risk assessment and hazard awareness
  • Safe entry and exit procedures
  • Gas testing and atmospheric monitoring
  • PPE and breathing apparatus
  • Rescue/evacuation techniques (for rescue courses)
  • Supervisor training includes planning, compliance, team control
  • You’ll get a full day(s) of instruction, certification (cards included), and potentially same-day qualification

Most qualifications, especially City & Guilds or CITB, are valid for 3–5 years before requiring refresher training. Confirm this timeline so candidates can plan renewals confidently.

Yes. Inspiration Training lists refresher versions of CITB GET courses (e.g., GET2942, 3393, 3392, 3391) and likely City & Guilds refreshers too.
